My wife Jessica and I started our petting zoo and pony ride service in 2009. In 2021, after Covid hit we focused on animal rescue and how to help as many homeless farm animals as we could.

The Name - Cricket's Mobile Petting Zoo

​

One of Jessica's favorite Disney Characters is Jiminy Cricket. In the story of Pinocchio, Jiminy was given the task of becoming Pinocchio's conscience, and teaching him the difference between right and wrong.  We always felt that allowing children to meet and fall in love with animals would teach them compassion, kindness, and how to take care of something smaller than themselves.

 

Much like Jiminy Cricket was the voice in Pinocchio's ears helping him to do the right thing, we hope our animals can make an impact on children and as they grow up, they will also have that little voice of Crickets Mobile Petting Zoo whispering to look after animals and to help animals whenever they can.

The Idea

 

When our son Ryder turned one in December 2009, we threw him a "John Deere Baby's 1st Birthday" party. The idea of starting a petting zoo was inspired by this celebration. While searching for a mobile petting zoo, we were shocked by the high prices for bringing animals to our home.​

 

Seeing the lack of affordable mobile zoo options in our area, we decided to start our own. Now, 16 years later, it has been an incredible journey, and we deeply appreciate everyone who has supported us along the way. Our goal is to be the best mobile petting zoo in Atlanta, and we look forward to sharing our animals with people for many more years. Give us a try—you won't be disappointed!​

 

As our business grew, we discovered another passion: rescuing animals. Today, most of our animals are rescues or surrenders, and it has become Jessica's mission to help as many animals as possible.
